Incredible bird’s-eye views: sightseeing flights in Tauragė from €45

If someone had told us a year ago that one of our most memorable family experiences in Tauragė would be taking a flight in a small aircraft, we probably would have just smiled. But that is exactly what happened. Sightseeing flights in Tauragė gave us the chance to see the city and its surroundings from a completely different perspective – from the air. Green forests, the winding Jūra River, the city, and the beautiful Lithuanian countryside made a lasting impression not only on us but also on the children. What surprised us most was that during a special event we could take a sightseeing flight for just €45.

Tauragė Airfield and Sightseeing Flights in Tauragė

Sightseeing flights in Tauragė are a fantastic activity and a unique opportunity to see Lithuania from the air. However, many people do not realize that Tauragė Airfield is much more than a runway for aircraft or simply a place where flights take place. It is a rapidly developing aviation space where you can enjoy sightseeing flights, pilot training, and educational events. It is also a unique venue for your events and celebrations in Tauragė.

As soon as you arrive, you can feel the special atmosphere. Planes taking off and landing, pilots preparing for their flights, and people for whom aviation is not simply a job but a true passion.

We were also pleasantly surprised to discover that the airfield offers much more than just sightseeing flights. You can purchase flight gift vouchers, book a photoshoot among the aircraft, arrange aviation performances for celebrations, or even organize unique surprises for various special occasions.

Modern event spaces have also been created on the airfield grounds. Birthdays, christenings, family celebrations, corporate events and conferences are held here. The halls can accommodate varying numbers of guests, while panoramic windows let you watch aircraft take off and land. Let’s be honest – not every event venue can offer a view like that.

Sightseeing flights in Tauragė – views you cannot see from the ground

We visited Tauragė Airfield, located close to the city centre, during an open day organized by Tauragė Airfield at the end of June. There were plenty of visitors and a great atmosphere throughout the day. Guests could explore the aircraft, talk to pilots and see everyday life at the airfield up close. Most importantly, visitors could take advantage of a special offer.

A 15-minute sightseeing flight cost just €45, so many people decided to take to the skies for the first time. In our opinion, it was one of the best opportunities to experience a flight at such an attractive price.

If you are planning a trip to Tauragė, follow Tauragė Airfield’s news and events, as the airfield plans to organize similar events in the future.

I have to admit that we were a little nervous before the flight, and the children were nervous too. But as soon as the plane left the ground, all the anxiety disappeared. The views from above were simply breathtaking.

During the flight, we saw a completely different side of Tauragė and the surrounding area. We could see the city streets, the winding Jūra River, the greenery of Karšuva Forest, and the fields stretching out around the city. The higher we climbed, the more we realized just how green and beautiful this part of Lithuania really is.

This is one of those experiences that is difficult to capture in photographs or videos. You simply have to experience it yourself.

You can also take a sightseeing flight with younger children, and the pilots provide them with headphones during the flight.

What else to see in Tauragė with kids

If you are visiting Tauragė for a full day or a weekend, a sightseeing flight can easily be combined with other family activities and attractions we have personally tried.

After enjoying the views from the air, we recommend visiting Taurų Park. It is one of the most impressive adventure parks in Lithuania. The park features huge net parks, attractions, and activities for the whole family.

Later, it is worth visiting the Tauragė Regional Museum. It will surprise you with interactive exhibitions, the Archaeology Tower, and a sandbox where children can become archaeologists themselves.

If you are travelling with children, make sure to visit Žaliasis Ūkis. Here, children can grind flour, knead dough, and make their own pizzas and khachapuri. It is one of the most interesting educational activities we have tried in Lithuania.

To finish the day, we recommend dinner at Castle Lounge restaurant, where you can enjoy not only great food but also a cosy cinema – a rather unexpected combination that the whole family will appreciate.

If you are looking for things to do in Tauragė, we genuinely recommend adding sightseeing flights in Tauragė to your itinerary. It is an experience that both children and adults will enjoy. The views through the airplane window will stay in your memory long after the flight is over.
