Green Farm in Tauragė: one of the most delicious educational experiences we’ve tried with kids

Sometimes, we discover places that surprise us not with impressive attractions or modern entertainment, but with sincerity, authenticity, and experiences that children remember long after the trip. Green Farm in Tauragė was exactly that for us. It’s a place where we not only had fun but also made, tasted, and learned about the journey of food – from grain to an incredibly tasty dish. After visiting, we understood why Green Farm in Tauragė is becoming an increasingly popular choice for families seeking meaningful and engaging educational activities for kids.

Green Farm in Tauragė – a family farm where real flavors are born

Green Farm in Tauragė is set in peaceful nature and does not have the Pagramantis Observation Tower, but it nurtures the ideas of ecological farming. Here, the team focuses on high-quality products, traditions, and a sustainable approach to food. The farm grows grains and uses them to produce a variety of products. Visitors can see the entire process up close – from grain to the final product.

The family continues long-standing bread-baking traditions, combining ancient recipes with modern technologies. They also make pasta, an idea that was born out of the desire to offer a wider, healthier alternative based on the same high quality as other farm goods.

Green Farm also operates a special laboratory, where they develop innovative, eco-friendly soil improvement products.

Why Green Farm is such a unique space

The head of Green Farm, Dr. Jokūbas Račkauskas, is a wonderful and charismatic person who connects with children perfectly.

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a cozy, family-like atmosphere. The space is very warmly and interestingly decorated. You don’t feel like just another visitor here. Rather, you feel like a guest invited to discover real country life and the secrets of food production. Children are especially fascinated to see how the products they eat every day are made. And parents have a great opportunity to show the work, knowledge, and love that goes into every baked good. Jokūbas demonstrated how flour is milled and what different types of milled grains look like.

Unique educational experiences for families and groups

Green Farm is famous not only for its products, but also for its educational sessions, which allow everyone to experience everything in practice.

The pizza and khachapuri workshop we attended with the kids delighted us so much that we would love to return again and again. You might say there are cooking classes all over Lithuania, but believe us – it all depends on the atmosphere and the person leading the session. The kids said this was the most interesting class they had ever attended.

The experience starts from the very beginning. Kids see how grains become flour, what makes them different, and what they look like. Jokūbas has so much knowledge and explains everything in such an engaging way that he keeps the kids thoroughly interested. Then comes the food prep. We made pizzas and khachapuri, but you can also choose options like kūčiukai, cookies, and more. Kids cut vegetables and meat, grate cheese, and, best of all, knead and prepare the pizza dough. Jokūbas lets the kids sprinkle flour, work with the dough, and craft their own pizzas just like real pizza chefs.

It’s amazing how much joy and emotion the freedom to create brings kids. And how much happiness they get from eating the pizzas they made themselves. Green Farm also organizes team-building evenings with tastings and offers classes for adults and groups.

Our highest recommendations

At Green Farm, learning happens not from textbooks or screens, but through activities, communication, and taste. That’s exactly why this place made such a strong impression on our family. In other classes, kids are often just observers, but here they are the main participants – they mix, knead, shape, bake, and of course, taste the delicious treats they create.
