For us, “Melt in Palanga” and the best things to do with kids in Palanga are inseparable. After our first visit, we immediately loved this hotel because it has everything families need:
- “Melt in Palanga” is in an excellent location – on Basanavičiaus Street, right by the Palanga Bridge. All major Palanga attractions are easy to reach, even with small children. The hotel is new, with tidy rooms, so it is cozy for families.
- There is a children’s play corner, created with a wonderful sustainability idea – all the toys were brought by staff or left by previous guests! They get a second life here and delight new arrivals.
- In the courtyard, you will find the VanWurst snack bar. When you get hungry, you do not have to worry about finding food.
- The best part – right next to the hotel is “Summer Park of Palanga” – a fantastic place for families. Everything is so close that you can order coffee and watch your kids jump in Lithuania’s largest trampoline area or explore other attractions.
- For adults, staying at “Melt in Palanga,” mini golf is free. For kids, trampolines, “Ninja Warrior,” and the maze are free. When you stay at “Melt in Palanga,” VanWurst is at your fingertips. Many think it is just a fast-food spot, but it is actually one of the closest places to the bridge where you can sit down and have a tasty, filling meal. The portions are large!
The area is green and right next to the amusement park, so adults can relax while kids play on the trampolines.
The Palanga Ferris Wheel is also nearby. If you do not want to ride, you can wait for your family, have a snack, or enjoy a cocktail from the updated menu. The menu changes regularly, so you will always find something new and delicious.
Checkpoint – famous Palanga donuts
If you have not tried them yet, please find them this summer. They are perfect for kids – always fresh, made with natural ingredients, and no additives. You will find cottage cheese donuts at the start of Vytauto/Basanavičiaus Street and at VanWurst. You can also spot them at town festivals and fairs. They have become so well known that even at local town festivals, people specifically seek out these famous Palanga doughnuts.
Palanga Summer Park – Lithuania’s largest trampoline park
Palanga Summer Park complex features a huge trampoline park with basketball hoops and trampolines that can launch you up to six meters high. There are activities for both kids and adults. While kids have fun on the trampolines, in the “Ninja Warrior” obstacle course, or in the three-story play area, parents can relax in beanbags, use the internet, or try mini golf. For thrill-seekers, there is a ropes course in the trees, probably the closest to the sea in Lithuania. You can also ride the carousel or race Italian cars. Palanga Fairy Tale Park
Not everyone knows about the Lithuanian Fairy Tale Park. Here, you can touch and hear fairy tales. Located in the pine forest near Birutė Park and the “Kupeta” entertainment club, this nearly two-hectare space attracts all ages. You can admire the sculptures, climb them, turn parts, and play.
Traditional Crafts Center-Gallery and Amber Workshop
Here, you can not only admire glass, wood, linen, ceramic, and amber creations made by Lithuanian artists, as well as paintings, but also purchase a souvenir you like and take part in interesting educational activities. Visitors can learn about the properties of amber, see both modern and traditional amber-processing machinery, watch an experienced craftsman create unique pieces, and even try making their own amber jewellery or souvenir.
At the Traditional Crafts Centre-Gallery, you can learn not only about the intricacies of amber processing, but also about other traditional crafts, such as wood carving and weaving.

Oasis of Joy for Children – Children’s Park
If you are travelling with little ones, be sure to stop by this park, especially if you are exploring Palanga by bike. Here, children can enjoy a variety of free activities. Located at the intersection of Naglio Avenue and Šermukšnių Street, the playground features colourful sea-themed play structures up to 7 metres high, as well as climbing frames, swings and carousels suitable for children of different ages.
What’s more, parents will appreciate the safe and well-maintained surroundings. The area is fenced, security cameras are installed, and the park is illuminated. Therefore, it is a great place to take a break during a family bike ride or simply let the kids have fun and burn off some energy. The park is open daily from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.
“Labrytys” Running Trail
For those who enjoy staying active, the “Labrytys” fitness trail stretches through the seaside pine forest right next to the Children’s Park. Here, you can go for a run or walk along the 6-kilometre circular forest trail. In addition, during breaks, you can work out in one of the five active recreation areas equipped with outdoor fitness equipment and exercise stations.
What’s more, this new recreational space quickly became popular among local residents, while sports enthusiasts spending their holidays in Palanga have also embraced the opportunity to exercise in the forest. At the same time, the trail is a great place for a leisurely walk with children and an enjoyable way for the whole family to stay active outdoors.
