Immersive light show “Magic Forest” in Vilnius (starting October 10)
Magic Forest in Vilnius is much more than a traditional light park. Here, the paintings of M. K. Čiurlionis come to life. Meanwhile, mysterious characters wander among thousands of colourful lights and fairytale installations. Surprises await at every turn. Spectacular decorations, live actor performances and unexpected encounters create the feeling that you have become part of a magical fairytale.
We recommend allowing at least 2–3 hours for your visit. The park covers a large area, and there is plenty to see and experience. Therefore, dress warmly, wear comfortable shoes and come prepared not only for a walk but also for a few surprises.
Your journey through the Magic Forest includes:
- Whispering Alley. A centuries-old lime tree path glows with thousands of unusual mushrooms, whispering lichens, wriggling roots and shimmering vines.
- The Pond of Memories. Discover underwater lights, shadows dancing across the water and images drawn from memory. Settle onto a swing and drink in a fairytale rising from the depths of the pond.
- The Sleeping Rose Garden. Do not be afraid of the thorns – they will not hurt you. The autumn roses, still awake, will lead you through a maze of thoughts and ask: what is your answer?
- Interactive Sakura Experience. Visitors bring the cherry blossoms to life with their own hands. Just three magical buttons illuminate the branches with vivid laser beams.
- The Grove of Secrets. Everyone has secrets, but only the brave dare to share them and accept those of others. The forest welcomes every secret. Here, sharing and discovering feels safe. Here, we are safe.
- The Aromatic Glasshouses. These greenhouses grow fragrances. Breathe in the magical air, exhale your worries and embrace a pure, intangible feeling. You, too, will become part of the magic.
- The Bear’s Millstone. This majestically magical carousel spins visitors into a colourful autumn dream. Like a dreamy bear, you may not want to wake up until spring.
- The Garden of Treats. Share your adventures over hot tea, pancakes, pizza, vegetarian stew and something sweet. After all, they say the stomach is a second heart.

↩︎ Back to listThe Grand Light and Lantern Festival in Rumšiškės, “When dreams awaken” (starting October 31)
As daylight gives way to darkness, the Lithuanian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum transforms. Familiar paths, historic buildings and trees that have stood for centuries become part of a story told through light. Meanwhile, the entire festival route becomes a journey between reality and dreams.
This year, the festival’s creators invite visitors to remember their dreams: those they had as children, those they have forgotten and those still waiting to come true.
This winter, Rumšiškės invites visitors to a light festival where the boundary between reality and dreams becomes almost invisible. More than 300 sculptures created especially for Lithuania, light and laser installations, and a route stretching over 2 km await visitors. Come and experience this fairytale of light together.
One of the festival’s most striking new features can be found in the museum’s historic village area. After dark, the facades of historic buildings will come to life. The lights will move and change in sync with music created especially for them. Consequently, the architecture itself will become part of a live audiovisual performance.
Another new feature this year is an authentic grain maze designed specifically for the landscape of the Lithuanian Ethnographic Museum. It will be more than a light installation; visitors will be able to step inside and explore it themselves. As they wander among the crops and lights, the familiar surroundings will take on a mysterious, dreamlike appearance.
The festival organisers hope this area will become one of the most enjoyable stops along the route for both children and adults.
Visiting hours: October 30–November 8 (inclusive), 17:00–22:00; November 12–January 3 (inclusive), 16:30–22:00; January 7–17 (inclusive), 17:00–22:00; January 21–31 (inclusive), 17:30–22:00.
