Snow Arena in Druskininkai: a place where winter never ends
We are big fans of winter activities, so we love Snow Arena in Druskininkai and visit it often. Internationally, this winter arena is known as one of the largest and most advanced winter sports complexes in the Baltic states. Snow Arena opened in August 2011. It is the only year-round indoor winter entertainment space of this type in Lithuania. Since its opening, the venue has only grown in popularity. Unfortunately, natural snow in Lithuania has become rare.
Here, the arena produces snow using modern technology. As a result, it maintains high-quality snow without chemical additives. One of the biggest advantages of Snow Arena is its natural-looking layer of snow, made with modern technology and no additives. Inside, the arena keeps a temperature, so the snow quality stays stable. Therefore, the slopes work well for first attempts and for more serious training.
The complex includes several slopes. The main slope is about 460 metres long and 50 metres wide, plus additional slopes. The main slope is wide, long, and suitable for different skill levels. Because of that, both children and experienced skiers can enjoy it. Beginners have a separate safe area. Meanwhile, those looking for more extreme experiences head to Snow Park, a special zone designed for tricks and freestyle riding.
All year round, Swiss lifts take visitors to the start of the slopes. In addition, “Magic Carpet” lifts work for children and beginners who try skiing or snowboarding for the first time. The arena also offers equipment rental and instructor services. So even those who have never skied before can start learning with professional teachers. In our opinion, Snow Arena is an ideal place for families. It works well for those preparing for mountain trips or those who want to teach their children how to ski or improve their skills.
Activities all year round
Snow Arena is not just a skiing destination. Instead, it is a very versatile winter entertainment space. It includes a snow park designed for snow sport tricks and leisure fun. At the same time, comfortable shared areas allow you to rest after active time on the slopes.
It is also great that there are several restaurants inside. They create a very authentic mountain atmosphere. Moreover, the complex offers extra activities such as snow tubing. This is a fun snow slide with inflatable tubes, and it suits families with small children perfectly. In addition, even if you do not ski but still want to enter the snow area, you can do so by booking the snow tubing activity.
