Druskininkai is one of the most family-friendly destinations in Lithuania throughout the year. While many cities and resorts become quieter and less appealing in autumn and winter, Druskininkai offers even more activities. Therefore, Christmas in Druskininkai 2025 promises to be even more magical and impressive than before. In December, the resort turns into a truly festive place where Christmas spirit, family fun, and winter charm come together. From a free Santa Claus residence to a light sculpture park, and from a family-favorite water park to snowy slopes at Snow Arena, Druskininkai offers so much that one weekend may not be enough.

Christmas in Druskininkai 2025: the best winter activities and the festive “What a Santa residence”
Christmas in Druskininkai 2025: the best winter activities is a guide prepared by us. Here you will find all the essential information on where to have fun, what to see, where to go, and which festive events you should not miss during the Christmas season in Druskininkai.

What a Santa Residence
For the third year in a row, the “What a Santa Residence” opens at Snow Arena. During the festive period, children and their parents can dive into a true Christmas adventure. Visitors meet Santa Claus and elves, join creative workshops, enjoy themed weeks, take part in educational activities, and relax in a cozy family space for children and adults. Most importantly, all Christmas activities at the “What a Santa Residence” are FREE. You can find the full event program on the “What a Christmas” website.

Christmas town and Christmas tree at Pramogų Square
Throughout the festive season, Pramogų Square hosts a lively Christmas town. Here you will see a beautiful Christmas tree, a Christmas market, and festive stalls. Traditionally, the red Santa Claus mailbox waits for children’s letters. Every Saturday, Postman Elf ceremoniously collects the letters and delivers them to Santa Claus at the “What a Santa Residence”.
In addition, on the second day of Christmas, festive Christmas orienteering games take place here.
Christmas tree park
Next to the musical fountain, the Pasakos Christmas tree park invites visitors to walk through an impressive free light park. Each tree, created by the Druskininkai community, tells its own story and reflects a unique winter mood. Our children enjoyed it so much that we spent several hours there.
You can find the full Christmas event program in Druskininkai on the website of the Druskininkai Tourism and Business Information Centre.
Christmas in Druskininkai 2025: the best winter activities
Snow Arena
Snow Arena is the only year-round winter sports complex in the Baltic States. Moreover, it ranks among the largest in Europe. The total length of the slopes exceeds 1,100 meters, the width reaches up to 50 meters, and the vertical drop is 65.65 meters. The complex also includes a 150-meter beginner slope and a 640-meter outdoor slope that operates during the cold season. In addition, the main slope divides into two separate areas: a snowboard park and a ski slope.
For our family, this is one of the most enjoyable places in Lithuania. We visit it whenever we can. Especially now, when winters in Lithuania often lack snow, this place offers a unique chance to enjoy winter activities all year round. It also works perfectly for those who want to learn skiing.
What makes it even better is the tubing slope, which children can also use. If you do not ski or simply want to enjoy the snow, you can pay just 12 euros and enter the snow zone.
Druskininkai water park and its children’s area
Druskininkai water park is our favorite water park in Lithuania. We cannot imagine a trip to Druskininkai without visiting it. No matter the season, pools always rank high on the wish list when traveling with children. The water park offers a two-level children’s area with three slides suitable even for the youngest visitors. Here you will find water cascades, a “monkey” bridge, a lazy river, caves, a pool with sea sand, and the family-friendly “Karakum” sauna.
Parents appreciate the flexibility. You can spend time with your children or choose childcare services and enjoy the adult SPA zone. If your children are older, they can try the exciting slides in the adult area.
In addition, the park stays warm at all times, especially in the children’s zone. There is also a café where you can grab a snack.
Cable car
The cable car in Druskininkai is the only attraction of this kind in Lithuania. It offers a unique experience for children and the whole family. Four ten-seat cabins travel from the cable car station near the water park to the other side of the Nemunas River, close to Snow Arena. The journey lasts about 7.5 minutes and reaches a height of 45 meters. During the ride, large windows reveal forest landscapes, river bends, and a panoramic city view.
The cabins are closed and safe, which makes this attraction suitable even for families with small children. In addition, the cable car provides a convenient way to reach Snow Arena.
Druskininkai sightseeing train
Do you want to enjoy the decorated city without tired little legs changing the route? Then the sightseeing train offers a perfect solution. You can admire the most beautiful parts of the resort through the train windows. Children stay relaxed, while parents enjoy the views. The route is short and pleasant, the price is low, and fun for children is guaranteed.
The train departs from the main city square, easily visible when leaving the water park. It runs all year round, so even if you rode it in summer, it is worth trying again during the Christmas season.
A new place in Druskininkai – “Saulėti žaidimai” VR escape room
“Saulėti žaidimai” is a young family-run business in Druskininkai. The idea behind it grew from a desire to encourage children, parents, and friends to spend quality time together without screens. The mission focuses on breaking routine, bringing joy and adventure, and promoting real communication.
The “Saulėti žaidimai” VR escape room challenges agility, logic, and creativity. Children from 10 years old, teenagers, and adults enter surprising worlds with unique challenges and immersive scenarios. Every decision matters, and teamwork becomes the key to success.
Visitors receive:
- A 1-hour adventure in a selected “Saulėti žaidimai” VR escape room;
- A relaxation area with hot tea or refreshing drinks.
Europa Royal Hotel Druskininkai – an ideal place for family SPA holidays
We chose Europa Royal Hotel for our stay and felt very satisfied with this decision. The hotel stands in the city center, so from our room we could see the decorated park and the Christmas tree. This location makes everything very convenient when traveling with children. The interior feels stylish and elegant, while the hotel provides everything needed for a family holiday. We especially liked the spacious rooms. The hotel serves delicious breakfasts, and the restaurant offers tasty meals, including set lunches and a dedicated children’s menu.
The hotel has a children’s playroom where our kids spent a lot of time. It also offers its own SPA center and a salt room, which is especially beneficial to visit with children during winter. In addition, there is a swimming pool and a small sauna complex that all hotel guests can use free of charge. The most convenient part for families is the indoor access to Druskininkai Water Park through the Druskininkai Health Resort corridors, as during winter this means you do not need to go outside after swimming.
Not to mention the free parking, the on-site bowling alley, and many other services. The hotel price is very family-friendly, which makes it one of the best choices for a family holiday in Druskininkai.
