One of the most beautiful summer journeys in Lithuania: a boat trip from Mingė to Nida through the Nemunas Delta

A boat trip from Mingė to Nida is not just a convenient way to reach one of the most beautiful resorts in Lithuania it’s also one of the most impressive summer experiences you can have. Instead of traffic jams, long ferry lines, ecological fees, and parking worries, you can enjoy a peaceful cruise down the Minija River, through the Nemunas Delta, and across the Curonian Lagoon. We have taken this route for two years in a row, and we can confidently say that sometimes the journey itself leaves a bigger impression than the destination.

Boat trip from Mingė to Nida. Why choose this trip?

A boat trip from Mingė to Nida is gaining more attention every year and for good reason. It’s a chance to reach Nida in a completely different way. No traffic jams, no ferry waits, and no extra fees. The boat “Svajonė” gets you to Nida in just two hours, and the journey itself is just as rewarding as your time at the resort. Along the way, you’ll see breathtaking views of the Minija River, the Nemunas Delta, and the Curonian Lagoon. Those are sights you simply can’t see by car.

Why would we choose this trip again?

The biggest benefit of this trip is the peace and comfort it offers. Instead of summer traffic, ferry lines, and ecological fees, and instead of worrying about parking in Nida, you can simply enjoy the journey. This is especially important when traveling with kids. Instead of a long car ride, they get a real adventure on the boat.

And the best part is that parking in Mingė is free.

The “Svajonė” boat trip from Mingė to Nida takes about two hours, but the time passes quickly. During the trip, you’ll see some of Lithuania’s most beautiful scenery the winding Minija River, the unique Nemunas Delta, and the wide Curonian Lagoon. That’s why this journey is not just a way to reach Nida. It becomes one of the most memorable experiences of the whole day.

Another major advantage is flexibility. In the morning, you leave Mingė and arrive in Nida around 11 a.m., giving you about six hours to enjoy the resort. In the evening, you return on the same boat. If you wish, you can take a one-way trip or return the next day. This is a great option if you’re planning a longer holiday on the Curonian Spit.

Convenient way to travel for the whole family

The “Svajonė” boat trip impressed us not only with its stunning views, but also with how easy it is for families. The boat has both indoor and outdoor seating. Everyone can choose whether to enjoy the scenery from the open deck or relax inside.

You can order breakfast during the trip, and there’s a bar on board offering drinks and snacks. This is especially convenient with kids there’s no need to rush to eat before departure or worry about extra stops.

Another big plus is that you can travel by boat with both bicycles and pets. So you can easily tailor the trip to your plans. Whether you want to explore Nida by bike or bring your four-legged family member along.

Many parents worry that two hours on a boat might bore kids, but our experience was completely different. For children, the journey was a real adventure. They watched other boats, birds, fishing boats, and the ever-changing scenery of the Minija River, the Nemunas Delta, and the Curonian Lagoon. The journey seemed to fly by. Kids can move around freely and play; you can also bring strollers or bicycle trailers.

No wonder we’ve chosen this route for two years in a row. Each time, we realize that the greatest value of this trip is not just in visiting Nida, but in the journey itself. It becomes one of the highlights of summer in Lithuania.

For even more comfort stay overnight in Mingė

If you want your trip from Mingė to Nida to be more than just a one-day outing, we recommend staying overnight in Mingė. “Mingės egzotika” is located right on the Minija River and is ideal for families. From here, the “Svajonė” boat departs in the mornings, so you don’t have to rush. You can enjoy breakfast, soak up the village atmosphere, and reach the pier in just a few minutes.

“Mingės egzotika” offers cozy rooms with all amenities, a café, a children’s playground, basketball and volleyball courts, and after an active day you can relax in the sauna or hot tub. This lets you enjoy the slow pace of Mingė rather than just rushing to catch the boat.

That’s exactly what we did we arrived in Mingė a day early. In the evening, we strolled through the village, watched life by the river, and in the morning, with no rush, set out on our boat trip. In our opinion, this is the best way to experience everything this journey has to offer.
