Trust us, Vaitų Riešutynė is a truly unique destination for family relaxation and leisure. In reality, it’s not just a simple holiday cabin. It’s a 5-hectare family farm growing hazelnuts and walnuts, with two vineyards, and even their own honey from beehives.

Here, you can stay in a small cabin made from a shipping container, designed to show how comfortably you can live in a small space that blends into nature. You’ll find everything you need in the cabin – a double bed with a perfect view of the pond and a sofa bed for kids. There’s also a kitchenette, fridge, coffee machine, shower, and all the necessary amenities.
Next to the cabin, you’ll find an ofuro hot tub, sauna, loungers, and a grill.
Heated pool and unique outdoor spaces
The biggest joy for both kids and adults is the heated pool, which includes jacuzzi jets and swim currents. Next to the pool, there’s a kitchenette and a bar area. You can sunbathe or relax in the shade while watching the kids play in the pool.
Amidst wildflowers, you’ll find a spinning terrace designed for sunbathers so you don’t have to move your lounger to catch the sun.
There’s also a small pond with a dock and terrace, perfect for fishing, reading, or morning yoga. Cross a small bridge over the ditch and find a grove with a mighty oak tree, a bench, and a peaceful spot with a unique vibe.
You’ll also discover several smaller relaxation terraces, workout equipment, and a dome for small parties or mini camps.
For larger families or solo travelers with bikes, there is an extra small bedroom available. During the warmer months, there is also a fun “teleportation tunnel”. It is made from well rings, serving as an alternative to a tent.
The story of Vaitų Riešutynė
The owner told us that eight years ago, they dug the pond in an empty field. Six years ago they built the first container home for their own retreats. At first, they had no plans for rural tourism or renting it out. Like many people during lockdown, they decided to expand the pond and build a second cabin for their kids and friends, and eventually for rentals. The first guests were a Ukrainian family, war refugees. They stayed for three months, all four family members and a small dog in 18 square meters. When they left, the hosts decided to try renting it out and were pleasantly surprised. People started coming, returning, and recommending the place to friends.
Why we love Vaitų Riešutynė
Although we travel a lot in Lithuania, it’s rare to find a place that truly surprises us. But Vaitų Riešutynė did just that. It’s an oasis of calm and relaxation in the middle of the fields. Even though you’re surrounded by nature and tranquility, you still have the comforts and fun you’d expect in much bigger resorts. We loved the privacy and peace, but also the essential comforts. You’ll find here a hot shower, clean bedding, and a good night’s sleep for the kids. And, of course, the heated pool is a highlight. This was the only place this year in Lithuania where our kids swam all day because the water was always warm.
The hosts’ attention to detail truly impressed us. You’ll find pool toys for the kids, coffee capsules, slippers, and bottled water in the fridge. A first aid kit in the room and bath salts for the hot tub are also provided. It seems the owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable.
What’s even more surprising is how affordable this fantastic place is. When a small hotel room by the seaside can cost nearly €200 a night, Vaitų Riešutynė offers a family getaway with a private pool in the heart of nature for just €120. It’s hard to believe, but it’s true.
