Mercure Klaipėda City Hotel

Updated:

Mercure Klaipėda City Hotel is one of the best choices for a family holiday by the sea. The hotel is part of an international chain, so you can expect top-quality service. Comfort, convenience, and friendly staff come together here with a great location, a wide range of services, and delicious food.

Mercure Klaipėda City Hotel

Mercure Klaipėda City is located right in the city center, in a beautiful historic building. However, it took us only fifteen minutes to walk to the Old Town and the ferry to the Sea Museum with the kids. You don’t have to worry about parking because the hotel has a spacious and private parking lot.

The rooms are stylish and modern. We stayed in a larger room with a separate bedroom and a sofa bed in the living area. Since we sleep with our youngest in the same bed, it’s often hard to get a good night’s sleep in hotels because the beds are usually narrow. Here, we found an exceptionally large bed – two meters wide, just like at home. That’s rare in hotels! The beds are not only wide but also extremely comfortable. We slept as well as at home. The room was spacious, comfortable, and truly family-friendly. If needed, you can also request a crib for little ones. We were especially impressed by the attention to detail, like an electrical socket that stays on even when you leave the room, so that you can charge your devices any time.

There’s also a minibar in the room. While most hotels usually offer only free water, here you’ll also find complimentary drinks – juice, Coca-Cola, Fanta, tonic, and more. Plus, there’s a coffee machine with coffee pods. Something we always miss when traveling in Europe, but find in the US, is an ice machine in the hallway and an ice bucket in the room.

The hotel also rents bicycles, and if needed, you can request babysitting services. There’s a gym and a steam sauna.

You can easily book your stay online.

“City Port” restaurant at Mercure Klaipėda City

All hotel areas are decorated with “Cranes” installations. Artist Agnė Kišonaitė created them from old chains, metal parts, and other relics found in the port – giving them new life.

The City Port restaurant serves seasonal, international, and local dishes, daily specials, and late breakfasts. There’s also a kids’ menu and, most importantly, a cozy children’s corner.

At breakfast, you’ll find fresh fruit and croissants, homemade butter, and a wide selection of hot dishes. The best part is that you can order hot meals not only from the buffet but also from the à la carte menu – pancakes, fried eggs, omelets, and more, all prepared to your taste and preference. The à la carte breakfast menu options are free. In the morning, you can also read newspapers and catch up on the day’s news over a cup of coffee.

Attention to kids

It’s great that from the moment you step into the hotel, you feel the attention to children. While we checked in, the kids received mini plush toys as gifts. We always love touches like this – and so do the children. Another big plus for us is the children’s corner in the restaurant, so parents can have dinner or breakfast in peace while the kids play.

It’s also wonderful that there’s a kids’ menu, and because breakfast is prepared à la carte, you can order exactly what your child likes.
