The Gnome Village in Lithuania: a hidden gem for family trips almost nobody knows about

We are constantly traveling around Lithuania, exploring not only the popular and well-known attractions. When traveling with children, we always look for truly interesting places in Lithuania that very few people know about. And quite often, we discover real hidden gems that seemingly nobody talks about.

One of those places is the Gnome Village in Lithuania – a hidden gem for family trips almost nobody knows about. This magical spot is near Kretinga. And feels like stepping into a tiny fairytale world the moment you enter. Our children were absolutely amazed, and honestly, so were we. We could hardly believe that such a place exists in Lithuania and that we had never heard about it before! Make sure to save this location for your summer family adventures.

The Gnome Village in Lithuania

The Gnome Village in Lithuania is an incredible place, so well hidden in the Žemaitija region that even we had never discovered it until now. The village is located at the countryside tourism homestead “Vienkiemis” in Padvariai village, Kretinga district, next to the outdoor restaurant area. In fact, the entire territory of this countryside homestead is impressive, filled with tiny gnome houses, sculptures, and beautifully decorated spaces.

Once you arrive and cross the monkey bridge, you enter an area full of miniature houses and instantly feel as if you have stepped into a real fairytale world. Children are welcomed by tiny gnome homes, a windmill, a little school, workshops, wooden pathways, and countless charming details that immediately captivated our kids. They ran around exploring the houses, checking every corner, and enjoying the playgrounds. The most delightful part is that inside the tiny houses you can also find little tables, chairs, and other items matching the theme of each house.

What impressed us the most was that this is not just a place for taking photos or stopping for lunch. It is a truly wonderful leisure space where children can freely walk around, crawl, explore, and discover every little detail. Believe us – our children found it incredibly exciting. The whole area is designed so that little visitors feel as if they have discovered a secret gnome world. These are exactly the kinds of places we love most while traveling around Lithuania – cozy, creative, surrounded by nature, and leaving a lasting impression not only on children but on parents as well. It is amazing how much love has been put into this place and how beautifully everything has been created and maintained.

Why It’s Worth Visiting

It feels like very few people know about the Gnome Village in Lithuania, so visiting it gives you the feeling of discovering a secret hidden place. While we were there, only two other families were visiting at the same time. Places like this prove that you do not need to travel abroad to experience something magical. Sometimes the most impressive experiences are hidden very close to home.

The outdoor café will only open from mid-June, but at the moment visitors can have lunch in the main café of the homestead.

There are also animals here, so if you are planning a visit, bring some food for them as well. Nearby you will also find the Kretinga dam. We sincerely recommend visiting, because the Gnome Village is truly a unique place in Lithuania.
