Contact zoo in Tenerife with children
What makes this zoo special?
- First of all, the park originally operated as a rescue center. Today, it focuses on endangered animal species. Currently, the main attention goes to lemurs, De Brazza’s monkeys, patas monkeys, and cotton-top tamarins. In addition, Monkey Park actively supports animal protection and sustainability by taking part in conservation projects. As a result, the park feels spacious, well maintained, and carefully designed.
- Second, children especially enjoy direct contact with animals. Visitors can feed guinea pigs, lemurs, tortoises, and even iguanas. Moreover, the park offers educational programs and scheduled animal feeding sessions.
- Third, the park features a wide variety of monkey and bird species, especially parrots.
- Fourth, the location is very convenient. The park is located in southern Tenerife, very close to the Los Cristianos resort and the main southern Tenerife highway.
- Fifth, ticket prices are very affordable. In addition, children under 5 years old can visit the park for free.
When is the best time to visit?
Monkey Park is open daily from 9:30 to 16:00, including public holidays.
We recommend visiting in the morning, especially during the first hours after opening. First, animals are more active, hungry, and not yet tired from attention. During summer, mornings are also more comfortable due to lower temperatures. Second, you will find available spots in the free parking lot. Third, queues at the ticket office remain short, although you can also buy tickets online.
How much are the tickets?
- Children under 5 – free
- Children (5–12 years) – 5 EUR
- Adults (13 years and older) – 10 EUR
Additionally, visitors can buy special vegetable boxes for feeding animals for 3 EUR. You cannot bring your own food for animals. However, you may bring snacks for yourself.
Visitor recommendations
- Bring snacks and water for yourself and your children. Although the park sells soft drinks, ice cream, and snacks, extra water is always useful, especially when visiting with children.
- The park has restrooms available.
- We recommend bringing wet wipes. They make it easier to clean children’s hands after feeding animals.
- Wear comfortable clothes and footwear. This way, you can move freely, feed animals comfortably, and not worry about getting dirty.
- The park is stroller-friendly, so feel free to bring one if you are traveling with small children.
- Do not forget sun protection. The sun in Tenerife is very strong, so sunscreen and hats are essential.
- Follow road repair recommendations. Since November 12, 2024, construction has affected the main road to the park. Therefore, we recommend using road TF-662.
If you are traveling with children, Monkey Park in Tenerife is one of the best attractions on the island. It offers not only fun but also educational value and allows children to experience the animal world up close.
