What to do with kids in Jonava? Jonava truly offers many activities for families. However, one place has recently attracted special attention. Last autumn, we told you about this new playground in Jonava. Now, we had the chance to visit it ourselves and see if it really deserves so much praise. We arrived with a simple plan. For instance, we wanted to stop for a short while, let the kids play, and continue our journey. However, things turned out differently.
As soon as we arrived, it was clear this was not an ordinary playground. The kids immediately started playing. The main slide impressed Motiejus so much that we thought we might not get him to leave. One big advantage is the environment. Although the playground is set in a residential area, it’s surrounded by a brand-new, tidy park. As a result, the natural feel remains, so you don’t feel like you are in a typical residential space. Children can move freely and try different activities. Meanwhile, parents can relax. There are comfortable benches and water stations nearby.
The most enjoyable part is that there is not only one main playground, but two more wooden playgrounds a bit further away. The main playground and its biggest slide are better for older kids, as climbing to the top is not easy. However, there are activities nearby for younger children as well.
If you come with younger children, they will love the two wooden playgrounds a little further away. I really miss such wooden playgrounds in Vilnius, because they are designed to encourage children’s imagination and movement.
Tried-and-tested family activities in Jonava
Jonava offers plenty of modern spaces for both kids and families. There is no shortage of leisure options, both outdoors and indoors. We especially recommend visiting the Jonava swimming pool, which we think is among the most family-friendly in Lithuania. In the colder season, Jonava also has one of the most affordable ski slopes in Lithuania.
