With the help of instructors, both you and your children can learn to stand confidently on skis. As a result, skiing in Poland can become an unforgettable experience.

Poland offers a very wide selection of ski destinations. All of these places, except Kasprowy Wierch, have artificial snow systems. However, before traveling, you should always check current ski conditions. These resorts offer slopes of different lengths. Therefore, if you travel with a group, everyone can find a suitable option. Skiing in Poland near Lithuania
Skiing in Poland near the Lithuanian border, at the WOSiR Szelment ski center, is first of all a great choice for those who do not want to travel far. At the same time, it suits travelers looking for a winter sports center in Poland. Poland truly offers a large number of winter sports centers and ski slopes.
WOSiR Szelment is a modern winter sports center located 15 km north of Suwałki and only 20 km from the Lithuanian-Polish border. The ski center stands on Jesionowa Mountain. Nearby lies Lake Szelment Wielki, which in winter turns into an ice skating rink once it freezes. The WOSiR Szelment ski center has eight slopes ranging from 270 to 500 meters in length. In addition, there is a snowpark. Artificial snow systems ensure snow coverage. However, depending on weather and visitor numbers, not all slopes operate at all times. Therefore, be sure to check information before visiting.

Skiing in Poland near Suwałki is possible, even though there are no ski slopes directly in the city. However, several ski areas operate nearby. One of the most well-known is the Szelment Winter Sports Center (Wojewódzki Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji Szelment).
This modern ski complex is located about 15 km from Suwałki, near the village of Szelment Mały. Here you will find 10 slopes of varying difficulty, suitable for both beginners and advanced skiers. The slopes use artificial snow, have lifts, and remain lit during the evening. The center also offers ski and snowboard rentals, ski lessons, and cozy restaurants.
Dąbrówka is a small ski center near Puńsk, about 30 km from Suwałki. It features one slope with a lift, making it ideal for beginners and families who want to try skiing. This calm and cozy place suits a first skiing experience well. The slope is covered with artificial snow.
Piękna Góra is a popular ski and leisure complex located about 60 km from Suwałki, near the town of Gołdap. Several ski slopes serve skiers of different skill levels. The complex offers lifts and artificial snow systems. In addition, visitors can enjoy restaurants, a viewing platform, and ski and snowboard rentals.
About 40 km from Suwałki, the small Rybno ski center offers gentle slopes covered with artificial snow. This location suits beginners and families looking for a quiet environment without large crowds.

Kasprowy Wierch
Kasprowy Wierch is a true paradise for skiers in the Tatra Mountains. As the highest ski area in Poland, it reaches 1,987 meters above sea level and lies just a few kilometers from Zakopane. You can reach the summit from Kuźnice in Zakopane, where the cable car station operates. Kasprowy Wierch features steep slopes with both challenging and easier routes.
At the summit, there are two main ski slopes:
- Gąsienicowa – with a four-seat chairlift.
- Goryczkowa – with a two-seat chairlift.
Both slopes meet FIS standards. From them, you can ski directly down to Kuźnice and return to Zakopane. Then, you can take the cable car back up to Kasprowy Wierch.
At the summit of Kasprowy Wierch, you can enjoy stunning views of the Tatra Mountains. In addition, you will find ski rental services, technical support, and even a restaurant. However, keep in mind that skiing is possible only when the mountain has sufficient snow cover. Therefore, always check current ski conditions before traveling. In some years, snow remains here even in May. On the other hand, when conditions are not suitable, the ski slopes remain closed.

Polana Szymoszkowa ski resort
Polana Szymoszkowa is a ski resort located just 2 km from the center of Zakopane. The slopes sit next to the Bachleda Kasprowy Hotel. This location suits travelers who want accommodation close to winter activities.
Polana Szymoszkowa works especially well for beginners. The resort has three lifts: a special lift for children, a six-seat lift leading to a longer slope exceeding 1,300 meters, and another lift for a shorter 400-meter slope. Therefore, beginners have several comfortable options.
You can arrive without any skiing experience and learn together as a family. The resort offers ski lessons for both children and adults. The slopes use artificial snow. However, it is best to check current conditions on the official website under “Opening hours.”
Nosal mountain
The Nosal Ski Training Center lies only 3.5 km from Zakopane. It offers great opportunities for both beginners and advanced skiers. Five lifts support different learning stages, and artificial snow covers the slopes. The center provides lessons for children and adults alike. As a result, the whole family can enjoy skiing. If you lack equipment, you can rent skis, snowboards, or even clothing.
Białka Tatrzańska
Białka Tatrzańska is a charming Tatra village located 100 km from Kraków and only 20 km from Zakopane. Thanks to numerous ski slopes and activities for children, this destination suits both skiers and families.
Here you will find three main ski resorts with artificial snow: Kotelnica, Bania, and Kaniówka.
Kotelnica is the largest resort in the area. It offers 14 km of ski slopes suitable for beginners and experienced skiers alike. In addition, Kotelnica has cross-country trails and a freestyle snow park. A ski school operates here, and you can rent equipment on site. Restaurants are also available.

Bania Ski & Fun is a family-friendly resort located within the Bania thermal baths and Hotel Bania complex. Hotel guests can access the ski area directly and use the Kotelnica slopes.
Kaniówka offers five lifts and five illuminated slopes. All slopes use artificial snow and remain well maintained, even in poor weather. Slope lengths range from 45 to 470 meters. Therefore, this place works well in almost any conditions.

MaltaSki
Skiing in Poznań is truly possible without traveling far. Malta in Poznań is a popular recreational and entertainment area by the lake. It features two ski slopes. The main slope is 150 meters long and has both chair and platter lifts. Beginners can choose the smaller 30-meter slope with a platter lift.
The ski slope operates throughout the week. From Monday to Friday, skiing is available from 10:00 to 21:00, while on weekends from 11:00 to 18:00. Although artificial snow covers the slopes, you should always check whether they are fully prepared before visiting.

ChodzieSKI ski resort
The ChodzieSKI ski resort is located in a quiet part of Chodzież, only 70 km from Poznań. The resort features a 350-meter-long slope with two lifts, located at 132 meters above sea level. You can book ski lessons here and rent equipment on site. Therefore, everything you need for winter fun is easily accessible, even if you cannot ski yet.
However, this ski resort has announced closure for the current season. Still, it is worth remembering and checking conditions in future years.

Górka Szczęśliwicka
Warsaw is one of the most popular destinations in Poland. We personally choose Poland very often, and we have visited Warsaw many times. We have even prepared a guide to the best hotels there.
Besides historical landmarks and events, the city also offers winter activities year-round. This is possible because Górka Szczęśliwicka is the highest hill in Warsaw at 152 meters. It features an artificial snow-covered ski slope.
The slope is 227 meters long with a vertical drop of 74.9 meters. Both platter and chair lifts operate here.
Kazimierz Dolny city
The Kazimierz Dolny ski resort is located only 3 km from the town itself. It offers a great place to ski and relax. The town is famous for its historical buildings and old streets. It lies about 150 km from Warsaw and 230 km from Łódź. During our visit, we also discovered the Łódź Science Center which we liked very much, as well as other attractions.
The ski resort has six artificial snow-covered slopes of different lengths. Shorter routes measure 210 and 250 meters, while longer ones reach 470 and 590 meters. A 110-meter slope serves snowboarders. You can book ski lessons for both adults and children. The official website regularly updates snow conditions.
Góra Kamieńsk ski resort
The Góra Kamieńsk ski resort is located 70 km from Łódź and 170 km from Warsaw. It stands on Góra Kamieńska, a hill formed from reclaimed coal mining waste. The slopes are fully maintained, illuminated, and covered with artificial snow.
The longest ski slope measures 760 meters. After an active day, you can relax at nearby restaurants. Ski rental and a ski school also operate on site.

A hill Łysa Góra
On the slopes of Łysa Góra in Sopot, you will find a 286-meter-long ski slope. The slope uses artificial snow, remains well maintained, and stays illuminated. From here, you can enjoy views of Sopot and Gdańsk.
Ośrodek Narciarski Koszałkowo ski resort
This ski resort offers everything you need. It has two slopes, lifts, equipment rental, ski schools, and restaurants. One very fun activity is tubing on snow tubes, which many visitors want to repeat.
Located only 40 km from Gdańsk, Ośrodek Narciarski Koszałkowo features two slopes measuring 150 and 300 meters. Both slopes use artificial snow and remain lit in the evening.

Zieleniec Ski Arena
Zieleniec offers 23 km of ski slopes, with the longest reaching 2,800 meters. It is one of the largest ski resorts in Poland. The resort lies 70 km from Wrocław and 200 km from Katowice.
The resort provides ski lessons for both adults and children. Therefore, it works very well for families. It has 22 artificially snowed slopes, illuminated until 21:00, and 29 lifts.
Przełęcz Sokola ski resort
The Góry Sowie mountain range is known for beautiful landscapes and historical sites. At 754 meters above sea level, the Przełęcz Sokola ski resort operates 80 km from Wrocław. It offers four artificial snow-covered slopes with a total length of 2,400 meters, as well as a ski school and equipment rental.
Czarna Góra ski resort
Located 120 km from Wrocław, this ski resort lies in the Sudetes Mountains. It offers 20 slopes of varying difficulty. Therefore, it suits both beginners and advanced skiers. Artificial snow systems operate here, along with six lifts, including three conveyor lifts.
The resort also offers accommodation options. You can choose from four hotels or apartments. Slopes remain well maintained and illuminated in the evening. Due to its elevation, the resort belongs to a clean air zone. Czarna Góra is located 220 km from Katowice and 290 km from Kraków.

Sosnowiec city
You do not need to travel far outside cities to ski in Poland. In Sosnowiec, a popular outdoor activity area offers two ski slopes, one small and one large. Both slopes use lifts and artificial snow. The site also provides a ski school and equipment rental.
Cisowa ski resort
Cisowa is a ski resort located 60 km from Kraków and the same distance from Katowice. It offers two illuminated slopes measuring 700 and 550 meters. Artificial snow ensures good conditions. Visitors can rent equipment and take lessons at the nearby ski school.
The resort lies between Kraków and Częstochowa, along the famous “Eagle Nests Trail.” This makes it attractive not only for skiers but also for history lovers. The surrounding area includes 25 medieval castles.
Podstolice ski resort
Only 20 km from Kraków, the Podstolice ski resort offers four slopes with a total length of 1.3 km and three lifts. All slopes use artificial snow and remain illuminated. Therefore, skiing is possible even in the evening, which is especially useful during winter.
The resort provides everything you need, from equipment rental to a ski school. After a day of activities, you can relax in the local restaurant. In addition, the resort even has a mini zoo for extra entertainment.
