Problematic facial skin care

Problematic skin, especially during adolescence, is often a cause for concern. For example, issues can range from oily skin to pimples and facial inflammation. Fortunately, proper care for problematic facial skin can improve its condition and help maintain a healthy appearance. Here, we share tips on caring for sensitive, oily, and acne-prone skin, what to avoid, and how to choose the right skincare products.

Problematic facial skin care is also an important topic in our family. As Greta enters her teenage years, she is very keen to look after her skin and happily includes skincare in her daily routine. As a result, our young family member makes sure her facial skin stays clean, well cared for, and healthy. Through our daily skincare rituals, Greta and I have the opportunity to discover the most suitable skincare products. That’s why we want to share our findings with you.

Various factors can contribute to facial skin problems:

  • Hormonal changes. Hormonal fluctuations during adolescence or for other reasons can increase sebum production and clog pores.
  • Improper skincare. Cleansing the skin too often or not often enough, using unsuitable products, and applying harsh treatments can damage the skin’s natural barrier, especially in young skin.
  • Environment and lifestyle. Stress, a poor diet, environmental pollution, and inadequate hygiene can also contribute to skin problems.

Tips for problematic facial skin care

  1. Keep your face clean and cleanse it properly. Use gentle cleansers suited to your skin. For example, choose non-irritating, alcohol-free products that remove excess oil without stripping the skin of its natural moisture. Additionally, cleanse your face twice a day, gently washing it in the morning and evening to remove dirt and impurities.
  2. Moisturise regularly. Choose moisturisers that do not clog pores. Products specifically formulated for oily and acne-prone skin are the most suitable options.
  3. Avoid harsh skincare products. In particular, stay away from products containing strong alcohol-based solvents, as they can dry out the skin and trigger even greater sebum production.
  4. Do not squeeze or manually remove pimples yourself. Doing so can cause inflammation or leave scars. Instead, allow your skin to recover naturally with proper care, or seek advice from a skincare professional.
  5. Consider the effects of diet and lifestyle. For example, a balanced diet rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals may help support healthy skin. At the same time, try to limit processed foods, sugar, and high-fat foods.
  6. Stay hydrated. Drink enough water to help maintain skin hydration from within and support normal metabolism.
  7. Prioritise good-quality sleep. Getting enough quality sleep is essential for skin regeneration. Aim for at least 7–8 hours each night. However, teenagers need even more quality sleep and rest.

Our discovery: DERMEDIC NORMACNE skincare products

Greta and I tried products from the DERMEDIC NORMACNE range, and we’re sharing our findings with you. These products help balance the skin’s pH, reduce excess oil, and soothe inflammation.

  1. DERMEDIC NORMACNE Cleansing Foam. This cleansing foam is designed for sensitive, combination, and oily skin affected by acne. We found it gentle and pleasant to use. Additionally, it lathers well and rinses off easily.
  2. DERMEDIC NORMACNE Antibacterial Cleansing Gel. This gel removes dirt and excess sebum without damaging the skin’s protective barrier. Its ingredients include zincidone, a zinc salt that reduces sebaceous gland secretion, and green tea extract. The lightweight, foaming gel effectively removes impurities, oil, and makeup. However, we prefer the cleansing foam.
  3. DERMEDIC NORMACNE Cleansing and Regulating Toner. This cleansing toner helps reduce excess sebum production. It soothes irritation and, most importantly, does not dry out the skin. We use it daily and find it an excellent addition to our skincare routine.
  4. DERMEDIC NORMACNE Mattifying Moisturising Cream. This mattifying moisturiser is designed for combination and oily skin that is prone to acne and shine. We particularly appreciate that it also does not clog pores.
  5. DERMEDIC NORMACNE Anti-Blemish and Pore-Minimizing Serum. We’ve been using this exfoliating serum as part of our skincare routine. Designed for oily and combination skin, it helps reduce excess sebum and minimise the appearance of enlarged pores.

Caring for problematic facial skin requires consistency and suitable skincare products. Choosing products tailored to your skin, such as the DERMEDIC NORMACNE range, may help improve its condition, reduce breakouts, and maintain a healthy appearance. Remember to monitor how your skin responds to each product. If necessary, consult a skincare professional to find the best approach for your individual needs.

Our final tip is to always protect your facial skin from sun exposure.
