This winter marks a new stage of urban entertainment in Lithuania. Outdoor ice rinks return to familiar locations, and new ones appear in completely different places. For some municipalities, this will also be the first season when city squares turn into winter attractions. Because of that, ice skating will become a fun activity for families, children, and everyone who misses a lively winter atmosphere.
Although winter is only approaching, it is already clear that we may have to wait longer for snow than we would like, so snowmen and sledding will apparently have to wait for a while. But there is no reason to be upset, because outdoor ice rinks in Lithuania 2025 will be a real relief for those who miss winter activities.
In Vilnius, the ice rink has already become a permanent part of the season. So you will definitely see it again this year. However, as mentioned before, residents of other cities will also enjoy new rinks this season.
Ice rinks in Lithuania 2025: the most beautiful places for outdoor winter fun
Ice rink at Vilnius Town Hall Square. From November 30 to February 1
The day after the main start of Christmas, an outdoor ice rink will appear again in the heart of the city. This year’s highlight of “Vilniaus Ledo” is a new amphitheater-style tribune with space for about 100 people. This is the first such solution in the capital, and it focuses not only on skaters, but also on people who can comfortably wait for their session, meet friends, or enjoy the lights and movement of the square.
You can skate on this large rink even after the holidays, because it stays open until February 1. Since the number of sessions is limited, it is important to get tickets in advance. More details about this year’s rink in Vilnius are available in the article.
Around the entire rink, there will also be a Christmas market where you can warm up with hot tea after skating. Or you can grab something tasty before an active session to get some extra energy.

Ice rink at Kaunas Unity Square. From November 28
This is one of the most anticipated news of the season in Kaunas. Last year, the main decorations and activities of the city were located in Unity Square. However, this year, the Christmas tree returns to its old location, where it stood for many years.
Even so, the city promises that Unity Square will remain active. Educational domes, Santa Claus, and an ice rink will appear here instead of the Christmas tree.

Ice rink at Mars in Kaunas district. From December 5 to 28
The leisure and entertainment park “Water on Mars” transforms into a real winter fairy tale, because Christmas at Mars begins here. Children and their parents can expect a special holiday adventure filled with joy, creativity, and magic, including an ice rink.
You can skate under sparkling lights and feel like you are in a fairy tale. Everyone is welcome here, both first-time skaters and experienced ones.

Ice rink at Klaipėda Theater Square. From November 29 to January 6
On the evening of the Christmas tree lighting, residents of Klaipėda will be delighted not only by the tree, but also by the rink, which will operate until January 6. Thousands of visitors come to the rink at Theater Square every year.
The wave-shaped rink will have large dogwood shrubs in the center, and well-designed lighting will make it possible to skate in a circle around them.
The rink will be open Monday to Thursday from 12:00 to 22:00, and Friday to Sunday from 10:00 to 23:00.
On Christmas Eve, it will operate from 12:00 to 20:00. On the first and second day of Christmas, it will be open from 11:00 to 23:00. And on New Year’s Day, it will operate from 10:00 until 1:00 at night.

Ice rink at Alytus Town Hall Square. From November 30
For the first time in the city’s history, an ice rink will be created here, and it will become a unique entertainment space for residents and visitors.
The rink will start operating on December 6. On weekdays, it will be open from 14:00 to 22:00, and on Fridays and weekends from 12:00 to 22:00.
In addition to the rink, the square will feature a carousel where children can enjoy memorable moments.

Ice rink in Palanga at Jūratė and Kastytis Square. From December 6 to January 18
On the evening of December 6, right after the magical Christmas tree lighting, a large outdoor rink will open in Jūratė and Kastytis Square. On the shiny ice, the legend of Jūratė and Kastytis will come to life again.
During the evening, there will be a concert and choreographed ice performances. Entrance to the rink will be free on opening night.

Ice rink in Šilutė at the courtyard of Hugo Šojaus Manor. From December 5
This year, Šilutė takes another step forward, and therefore it presents a new, larger, and cozier winter experience – Šilutė Ice Arena. Moreover, the arena operates under a 1200 m² roof, and it also includes expanded areas for relaxation, entertainment, and comfortable time spent together. In addition, the space aims to bring people together, because it offers many opportunities to enjoy winter activities.

From November 30 to January 11, a real winter fairy tale will be waiting for you next to Kaišiadorys Cultural Center.
