Druskininkai – Capital of Culture 2025: events, entertainment and places worth visiting

The year 2025 is special for Druskininkai – the city has become the Lithuanian Capital of Culture. This means not only hundreds of concerts, exhibitions, performances, and artistic actions, but also a unique opportunity to rediscover Druskininkai: not only as a resort but also as a vibrant city.

The Capital of Culture program includes more than 350 events – from international concerts to small community celebrations, from solemn ceremonies to creative workshops open to everyone. Through the initiative “Nepyk” (don’t be mad), people are encouraged to embrace tolerance, social sensitivity, and a sense of community, while artistic highlights inviting everyone to slow down add to the city’s unique charm. Capital of Culture events: what events are planned this autumn

On September 26–28, Druskininkai invites everyone to an audiovisual journey through the city, discovering unexpected light compositions created by lighting artists and seeing familiar places in a new way. This year’s Tourism Days theme is “Shining Etudes,” reflecting M. K. Čiurlionis and his works.

During the day, everyone is invited to various concerts, educational activities, and other events for people with different tastes.

Alongside major events, the Capital of Culture program is filled with concerts, theater performances, art actions, exhibitions, and educational workshops. The program includes classical music concerts, international art exhibitions, workshops for young artists, and creative initiatives for children and families. The year 2025 in Druskininkai is the time when everyone can discover a form of culture close to their heart.

„Nepyk“ (don’t be mad) – a gentle but very important step

Together with the events, Druskininkai also presents a special social initiative called „Nepyk“ (don’t be mad). It is an invitation to pause, listen, and be more tolerant toward one another.

Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, apart from his creative talent, stood out for his special attitude toward others. In his letters and life, he often repeated the phrase “don’t be mad” addressing his wife Sofija or relatives. Sometimes he said it seriously, wishing to calm others and keep his inner balance, and sometimes playfully, inviting not to get angry over little things – bad weather, failures, or daily worries. “Druskininkai – Lithuanian Capital of Culture 2025. Touched by Čiurlionis” invites everyone to join the ideas of tolerance, responsibility, and social sensitivity.

„Nepyk“ (don’t be mad) manifests in many forms – from workshops in schools to public actions and artistic performances in the streets.

Places to visit in Druskininkai

In addition to many events, Druskininkai, as always, has plenty to offer – entertainment, parks, and public spaces. For us, it’s one of the most beautiful cities!

This time we visited several parks – Druskininkai could boldly be called a blooming green city! During this visit, we also wanted to try the UNO Park and, of course, return to the water park we’ve visited more than once. The kids said that holidays in Druskininkai should last longer because a few days are simply not enough!

UNO Park – for adrenaline lovers

Looking for adrenaline? UNO Park is a climbing park right in the center of Druskininkai, near the water park. It has various rope courses among the trees, with different difficulty levels. You’ll find tracks for children, beginners, and thrill-seekers, with ziplines between trees and challenges that guarantee a real rush of adrenaline.

The park stands out for having many courses adapted for smaller children.

Our kids loved it. The park is really large, and the zipline over the Nemunas River crowned our visit.

Cable car

After UNO Park, we went to a unique attraction – the cable car connecting the city center and Snow Arena. As you ascend over the Nemunas River, breathtaking views of the resort and its surroundings open up. It’s not only a convenient means of transport but also a memorable experience. The kids were amazed to find real winter in the middle of summer – Snow Arena is already on our “must visit” list for our next trip to Druskininkai.

Druskininkai Water Park

We ended our active adventures in Druskininkai at the Water Park. Did you know that it’s the largest in the Baltics and ranks among the TOP 10 water parks in Europe?
An oasis of 30,000 square meters of tropical heat and entertainment lets you enjoy warmth, fun water attractions, and thrilling slides, and discover the most relaxing saunas for your body and soul from a choice of 20. It’s a place where fun meets relaxation, and time melts away unnoticed.

Green spaces and parks in Druskininkai

Karolis Dineika Wellness Park

Lithuania’s first park once focused on natural health treatments now serves as a modern wellness and leisure space.

It’s a park from my childhood – I remember well the health treatments and the little stones in cold water pleasantly massaging small feet. Now it’s especially beautiful. This corner of nature is perfect for reading a book in a gazebo, admiring flower beds, relaxing in a sauna, refreshing in cascade baths, enjoying sunbathing, exercising on outdoor equipment, or simply walking along the park paths.

There’s also plenty for kids to do – the park has a playground.

Vijūnėlė Park by Lake Druskonis

A park with a picturesque pond – a peaceful oasis in the city. In spring, it blooms with a sea of half a million daffodils, while in summer it attracts visitors with its beach and children’s activities. You definitely won’t get bored here with the whole family – near the park, there’s a children’s entertainment center “O kas čia?” (“What’s here?”), as well as tennis courts, workout areas, basketball, and football fields.

Health Resort Park

Here you’ll find a mineral water pavilion, a Musical Fountain, cafes, and restaurants. It’s pleasant to stroll, cycle, or ride electric scooters around the park. From the nearby pier, you can take a boat or steamboat excursion. Flower beds bloom throughout the season.

Hotel GODA in Druskininkai: a small oasis of peace with a garden and rooftop SPA.

This time we stayed at the small GODA hotel – with a garden and rooftop SPA! And the hotel restaurant pleasantly surprised us.

Our stay at the GODA hotel left a truly good impression. It’s not a huge hotel with endless activities, but that’s exactly what makes it special – a place of peace, coziness, and sincerity. If you’re looking for a simple yet heartfelt stay in Druskininkai, GODA is a great choice. Even if you don’t stay overnight, it’s worth stopping by for dinner – especially for their legendary pot of potato pancakes!

Why visit Druskininkai before the end of 2025?

  • Plenty of events: concerts, celebrations, festivals, Christmas events, and art actions.
  • A city that invites you to experience culture not only on stage but also in the streets.
  • The social initiative „Nepyk“ (don’t be mad) – an invitation to change everyday life.
  • Lots of entertainment: climbing park, water park, cable car.
  • Green spaces and parks – especially beautiful during the golden autumn.

In 2025, Druskininkai is not only a resort but also a living cultural scene. This year is a great opportunity to visit and dive into the rhythm of the city – from impressive concerts to relaxation in green spaces, from adrenaline-filled attractions to peaceful moments by the Nemunas River. Druskininkai awaits everyone who wants to experience what it means to be in the capital of culture.
