We were searching for a comfortable, memorable place for our family celebration and meeting with friends. We chose Slėnis in Trakai for its beaches, family activities, and amazing views. It’s very close to Vilnius – right on the shore of Lake Galvė, with breathtaking vistas of Trakai Castle.
If you decide to stay longer, you can also explore the surrounding area. Užutrakis Manor is just 5 minutes away, and Trakai town is nearby too.
Driving through a dense forest, we arrived at a place where nature blends with peaceful comfort. Wooden cabins, cottages, and lodges are designed to feel naturally hidden among the greenery and lakeshore. Slėnis in Trakai is a hidden natural gem near Vilnius with a fantastic beach.
Accommodation by the lake
Slėnis in Trakai offers a variety of accommodation options – from cozy manor rooms to spacious summer houses. You can even stay here with a camper or a tent. The campsite has water and electricity stations, and guests can use showers, toilets, and kitchenettes.
We stayed with another family in a cabin right on the lake’s edge. It was so convenient: one cabin with separate entrances and private spaces – each family had its own kitchen and dining area with all essentials, a TV, and even a fireplace, a bathroom, and a bedroom for a family of four. This is true comfort when you’re with friends but still want your own privacy.
We spent time together at the beach near our cabin, enjoyed the sauna, and relaxed on the shared terrace with a lake view.
There are also plenty of outdoor areas with barbecue grills and picnic zones – super handy for family gatherings.
Fun and activities for the whole family
Another important factor for us was having activities for everyone. Slėnis in Trakai truly delivers with something for all interests.
The standout is the exclusive private sandy beach with loungers – perfect for summer days, swimming, sunbathing, and simply relaxing.
There are smaller beaches too – one was right by our cabin, so we could enjoy water fun in a more secluded spot.
You can also rent a sauna or a hot tub. We ordered the sauna by our cabin – it was a real treat to enjoy the heat and then cool off in the lake. The hosts even provided sauna towels, which was a nice touch.
Slėnis in Trakai invites you to enjoy all kinds of water activities. You can rent SUP boards, kayaks, boats, water bikes, or even transparent kayaks.
There are beach swings, playgrounds, and sports courts for basketball, football, and volleyball – we tried the volleyball court and had a great time.
You’ll also find board games at the reception.
Restaurant “Slėnio terasa”
The “Slėnio terasa” restaurant deserves special praise – not only for its views.
We ordered food to go and enjoyed it in our cabin, but the terrace itself is a lovely spot to dine. If the weather isn’t great, there are plenty of tables inside.
The food quality really impressed us – pizzas, burgers, ribs… Everything was fresh and tasty. Our friends especially praised the burgers, saying you don’t always get such good ones even in Vilnius. The kids loved the pizzas – plenty of toppings!
So even if you’re just looking for a day out with a clean beach, water fun, and good food, Slėnis in Trakai is the place to find it all. We highly recommend it!
