When more and more LEGO bricks appear in your home, children build new worlds from them, and parents look for more and more boxes to store them, it is a sign – it is time to travel to Legoland! Therefore, Travel kids has prepared useful information for you so that travel to Legoland, the paradise of bricks, becomes a pleasant and safe experience.
Travel to Legoland in Denmark – it is a great entertainment for the whole family.
Why is it worth traveling specifically to Legoland in Denmark?
Although Legolands exist all over the world, Denmark is the birthplace of LEGO. Moreover, many entertainment objects are located here, and all of them are very close and easy to reach on foot, by bicycle, by car or by bus. When you travel to Legoland in the Danish city of Billund, you enter an entertainment area where LEGO House stands, and right next to it you find the Lalandia water park and the cozy Teddy Bear museum. In addition, if you travel by car, you can also visit Zootopia – a zoo safari nearby.

What to do at Legoland?
The word LEGO comes from Danish (dan. leg godt) and means “play well”. Therefore, this principle applies to the amusement parks in Billund – they invite families to play well and enjoy their time together. In Legoland, you not only walk through a mini world built from LEGO bricks, but also sail in boats, drive LEGO cars, or try roller coasters. You can also enjoy various attractions and many carousels. At every step, you meet characters that you know well from LEGO sets, series and films. In addition, there is a cinema on site, workshops operate, and animators entertain visitors.
There are also restaurants and cafés on site, and you can buy drinks and snacks, while picnic areas are also available. Moreover, there are many toilets throughout the complex.
Tip: in Legoland, when crowds increase, you may wait even up to an hour at popular attractions. Therefore, we suggest going to the back of the park first – there are fewer people, because visitors usually start from the beginning. Also, when you buy food on site, you may wait in long lines, so it is best to bring your own snacks and drinks.

Lego House for those who love building
If you travel to Billund because you love LEGO, you must visit Lego House (LEGO House)! Here, wherever you turn, you can build. Not only children build, but adults also join, and parents create together with their children. As a result, visitors can feel like in an alternative world, because huge LEGO constructions surround them – dinosaurs, trees, cars, and all of it made from bricks. The exhibitions spread across several floors, and there are many halls.
Do not pass by the café – here ordering, waiting, and receiving food becomes a real attraction, because again – almost everything is made from bricks (except the food). Meanwhile, while you wait for your dish, LEGO robots interact with you in a fun way.
How much time should you spend at LEGO House? If children like building, then you will need a full day. However, some visitors stay for two days and still feel they want to spend more time there. Also, after closing, the rooftop terraces remain open for one more hour, and there you will find a fun playground with a beautiful view.
Lalandia water park – is it worth visiting?
The water park suits both toddlers and older children, and the attractions adapt to children’s height. Families who visit the water park say that most attractions suit children from at least 110 cm height. Therefore, a 6-year-old will find many activities. However, a 4-year-old can try fewer attractions. Parents also say that it is best to visit with children from 130 cm height (children are measured at the entrance!). This way, children can freely enjoy all the park’s advantages.
Tip: if you arrive after 14:00, you get a discount for the ticket until the end of the day. However, if you do not want to waste time waiting, come in the morning, because queues at the slides are shorter then.

Travel to Legoland and other nearby places in Denmark – what time is suitable?
Since Denmark has a northern climate, it still feels cold even in April, when the park starts its season. Although Legoland operates in any weather, some attractions may not operate. Also, when it rains, it simply feels unpleasant to go to some attractions (for example, sailing in a LEGO boat).
Tip: it is better to wait before buying tickets until you know the weather. This way, you can plan indoor attractions during bad weather and visit Legoland when the weather is good.
Where to buy tickets and what are the prices?
You can buy tickets to all mentioned places online or on site. However, when you buy Legoland tickets online, you usually get discounts.
You will find offers in a reliable ticket reservation system – you can buy a one-day or two-day ticket at good prices.
It is also worth checking discount coupons, which you can find, for example, when buying LEGO sets in Lithuania – inside the product catalog you often find a coupon for a free child visit to Legoland. You can also find these coupons in LEGO catalogs in Lithuania. They are available in toy stores and larger shopping centers. In this case, you only need to buy tickets for adults.
Tip: look for discount coupons also in Denmark – you often find them on bread, snack packages, breakfast cereals, bars or at gas stations and cafés.
Where to stay when traveling to Legoland?
You can stay on site, although it is quite expensive. However, families who visit Legoland say that staying at least one night in the Legoland hotel is worth it. Children feel amazed when they fall asleep, wake up, and eat surrounded by LEGO sculptures. One fun detail – upon arrival, you need to complete a task in the room to open a safe. This way, you can find a LEGO toy. Another advantage – many staff members engage with children in the hotel, and there are many activities for children. There are also several restaurants and a gym on site.
Book and make your children happy!
The Lalandia complex also offers accommodation in cottages. When you book here, the price includes access to the water park, playroom, and goat enclosure. At certain times, children can enjoy animation, and there is also a grocery store. A train takes you to the cottages from the main entrance. The entrance to Legoland is also very close. We recommend booking accommodation in advance.
However, if you want to save money – look for accommodation in nearby hotels. You may need to travel just one stop to Legoland, but you will pay 2–3 times less than in the complex.
How to get to Legoland?
By plane to Billund? Why not! There are direct flights from Vilnius, and Billund airport is very close to Legoland. The flight takes less than 2 hours. Therefore, if you plan well, you can visit Legoland and other attractions even over a weekend. From Billund airport to Legoland, you can get by taxi (about 20 EUR) or by public transport. Routes no. 43 and no. 143 run more frequently. Meanwhile, routes no. 119, 144, 166, and 944x run less often, and on Sundays they run rarely.
Traveling by car from Lithuania is also convenient, especially if you want to see more interesting places (families recommend stopping at Serengeti and Heide parks in Germany along the way). There is also an option to travel by bus through Lithuanian travel agencies.
