Rietavas horse stable is located near the center of Rietavas. It is known for its beautiful horses, well kept grounds, and friendly instructors. Here, visitors see how people care for horses and learn about their daily lives. In addition, both adults and children can enjoy riding. You can choose a large horse or, if needed, a smaller pony.
The stable also continues a tradition started by the Oginski dukes in Rietavas. They began keeping and breeding the old Lithuanian horse breed called the Žemaitukas. Today, this breed is rare and considered endangered in Lithuania.
If you or your children have never ridden before, this stable is a great place to start. The instructors are friendly and patient, so they explain everything clearly. As a result, riders feel safe and confident. Moreover, you ride in a tidy and well prepared area.
If you plan to visit on a weekend or with a group, book in advance because the stable offers only a limited number of spots. Also, bring some carrots or apples with you. Then, with staff permission, you can feed the horses.
Rietavas horse stable also offers clubs for children. In addition, summer camps take place here every year.
