The Fallow Deer Park (Perlinių danielių parkas) is a unique place in Lithuania. We have not found anything similar not only in Lithuania, but even in neighboring countries. It is a place where you can escape the noise of the city and enjoy nature, peace, and the wonderful company of fallow deer. This is not just a place you visit and then leave. You will go home filled with good emotions, wonderfully rested, having spent time in nature’s calm and having made friends with freely roaming fallow deer. It is a space for quiet family leisure, where you can have a picnic, read a book in peace, or celebrate special occasions.
The Fallow Deer Park (Perlinių danielių parkas) – practical information
The Fallow Deer Park welcomes visitors every day from 8:00 to 22:00.
This family friendly park is only a 13 minute train ride from Kaunas city center on the Kaunas to Vilnius route, near the Karčiupis train stop. It is also fun to travel here by train from Vilnius, for children it becomes an extra adventure. The park is also easy to reach by car, as it is located just 6 km from the country’s main A1 highway (Vilnius – Kaunas – Klaipėda).
Bring carrots and apples to feed the deer. For children, it is easier to feed them carrots by hand. The deer also love unsalted peanuts and will happily eat them straight from your hand. Rabbits really enjoy lettuce. There are shelters and a rabbit house where you can hide from the rain. In fact, everything here is adapted for visits in all seasons and in any weather.

A place for picnics and family celebrations
There are picnic areas, gazebos, and benches in the park. There is also a grill, barbecue, skewers, firewood, hot water, a kettle, and more. Everything is for your convenience, and there is no extra charge for using it. Just bring something to grill or some snacks.
The hosts also treat visitors to coffee and tea, and there are treats for children. Being here, it feels like this place is not in Lithuania, because everything is so beautiful, tidy, and cozy.
At the Fallow Deer Park, you can organize birthdays and other celebrations. There is a dedicated area with a gazebo and BBQ.
Large and small gazebos, a closed heated cabin, spacious tables and benches in the forest under the open sky with animals walking nearby create a unique experience and only the best emotions. Other areas are free and not reserved, so there will definitely be space for everyone.
Fallow Deer Park – our recommendations
We sincerely recommend planning more time for your visit. We stopped by briefly and were really sad to leave because we wanted to stay longer. Next time, we will definitely come back with picnic treats and spend at least half a day here. The Fallow Deer Park is truly not just an animal park. It is a wonderful leisure space created and cared for by an amazing family.
It is honestly hard to describe this place in words. You simply have to visit and feel it for yourself.
